Plunger Flow Control Valve

PL02

Manufactured by our partner TIS Group, Flowrates annular valves are designed to provide precise and efficient flow control in applications requiring fine regulation of liquids and pressurized gases. Their advanced design ensures a smooth transition between different opening positions, minimizing pressure losses and delivering optimal performance, even under high pressure.

Thanks to their robust structure and modular design, these valves integrate seamlessly into hydraulic, industrial, and environmental infrastructures.

Operating Principle

The annular valve is primarily designed for water flow regulation. The flow control is achieved through the axial movement of a piston, operated by a rod and crank mechanism. The piston is positioned at the center of the valve body and moves within a specifically designed chamber to prevent noise and cavitation. This design ensures smooth operation without vibrations.

The water flow is guided through an annular-shaped chamber around the streamlined central body. The section of this chamber continuously decreases from the inlet to the throttling point, enabling a smooth variation in flow and pressure. This geometrically optimized design confines cavitation bubbles to the center of the outlet, preventing valve damage.

Maximum Precision and Flow Regulation

Ultra-precise flow control – Optimized design allows for highly sensitive adjustments, ensuring stable and progressive regulation.

Reduced pressure losses – Hydrodynamic profile minimizes turbulence and optimizes flow efficiency.

High resistance to cavitation and erosion – Ideal for high-velocity conditions and aggressive fluids.

Plunger guidance system – Ensures smooth and seamless movement, reducing wear and extending the valve’s lifespan.

Customizable Options and Configurations

Flowrates annular valves are available with various options to meet the specific requirements of each application:

🔹 Available Actuators – Manual, electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic actuation for precise control and automation.

🔹 Interchangeable Plungers – Different profile types available (conical, cylindrical, slotted) to fine-tune the flow regulation characteristics.

🔹 Special Coatings and Treatments – Internal epoxy or Ebonite coating, resistant to chemicals and abrasion.

🔹 Anti-Cavitation Design – Multi-orifice cavitation cage for progressive energy dissipation, minimizing cavitation effects.

🔹 Check Valve Functionality – Can act as a check valve when standard check valve dimensions are insufficient, providing additional safety and reliability.

🔹 Air Admission System – Dissipation plate and ventilation device to reduce cavitation impact on internal surfaces.

🔹 Hydraulic Counterweight System – Allows the valve to function as a safety shut-off device for emergency applications.

Industrial Applications

🔹 Water supply and distribution networks – Precise flow regulation for main pipelines and pumping stations.

🔹 Wastewater treatment plants – Controlled flow management at inlet and outlet basins, optimizing treatment efficiency.

🔹 Dams and hydropower plants – High-pressure water flow control, preventing cavitation and erosion.

🔹 Aeration systems in wastewater treatment plants – Compressed air flow regulation in air intake networks, ensuring optimal oxygenation of biological basins and effective wastewater treatment.
